Description
Totally clean MOT until 09/ 09/ 2025, with no advisories.
The engine runs like a dream and proves to be very economical, the gearbox was replaced shortly before I took ownership and in recent years I have changed all 4 shock absorbers, all brakes (discs and pads), cam belt and auxiliary belts changed in 2023 and the tyres are in very good condition.
All Renault Masters from the model year 2004 have come with fully galvanised body shells and this one has no structural rust at all, however there are a some dents but this meant we were never worried about driving down narrow country roads, but overall she looks beautiful as the photographs clearly show.
'Millie' is correctly registered with the DVLA and on the V5 document as a Motor Caravan, so far cheaper insurance, ferry and tunnel charges and you can legally drive at 70 mph on dual carriageways and motorways.
Converted by me to a very high standard along with very special and expensive professionally applied closed cell spray foam insulation (the most thermally efficient insulation available), 4 x double glazed windows with built in fly screens and privacy blackout/ blinds, 3 x roof lights and large solar panel, 2 x leisure batteries, large under floor fresh water and waste water tanks.
A very large and unique rear storage area accessed through the rear doors which does not disturb the internal living space.
Pull out double bed which makes up to a 6’ x 4’6”.
Large rear shower room & toilet.
Gas blown air heating.
Refillable lightweight gas cylinder with external filling point.
4 burner gas hob and grill.
Waeco CR50 12V fridge.
Extensive cupboard space.
Fully fitted external & internal front windscreen insulation and numerous extras including a 3 ton trolley jack, electric hook up cable, hook up sockets, cassette hose-pipe, crockery, cutlery and lots more.
From the very outset of my design of the living space, we wanted the largest amount of useable bright and light living day space, we also knew, from the research we undertook that the vast majority of campervans and motorhomes have nowhere near enough useable storage space which is why ‘Millie’ has the enormous, fully racked back end which doesn’t rob too much of the internal living space and yet it allows for a very large amount of the space needed when undertaking long touring holidays. As for the closed cell insulation, we have been away in temperatures as low as –17C and as high as + 44C and we have always been very comfortable inside.
We are only selling our much loved ‘Millie’ because of my age and failing health. It took me a very long time to plan the design and overall layout and then working full time it took me 5 months to undertake the build which I finished in October 2015, since when we have travelled extensively throughout the UK & Europe.
During that time not one single thing has gone wrong with either 'Millie' and not a single rattle or squeak from the interior!
My decision to carefully plan in the enormous storage space has proved to be invaluable which is why, to my knowledge the overall design has been copied by numerous other self builders
We will miss her dearly and in total honesty we don't want to see her go.
