Hello, I have for sell is my beautiful Mercedes w140 s420 v8 classic long wheelbase. The car currently does not have an MOT and is garaged however you can see from the history that it has always passed without much issues. I am currently in ill health thus selling this from my collection as else would have loved to keep it for future restoration.
I personally owned the car for over 2 years as have originally brought it from Ireland and brought it back to the UK in 2022 where I did a long road trip from Scotland to Yorkshire, where it was a abosulte pleasure to drive on the classic v8 engine. I have owned a few w140 in my time and must say this is the smoothest and also thirstiest one by far - and boasts plenty of power for a 2 tonne limousine.
Mechanically the car is in good condition, the engine runs smooth with full power and no issues whatsoever, however do note that the hydraulic lifters can do with a refurb due to hearing of a slight clicking sound and the oil pressure goes from 1 to 3 very intermittently, I have taken this into consideration and thus priced down my s420. The gearbox works absolutely fine with smooth gear changes, and everything else including brakes, suspension, electrics works perfectly prior the vehicle had been stored away. Other good parts is that the AC is ice cold and that all electrics works in the car.
Interior wise my s420 boasts black leather front and back in excellent condition and are all original. Everything works as it should and it is fully limo tinted all round from to back. The suspension is also very tight with no knocks and bangs, the brakes are very good and for the last MOT it just had a new steering rack from Mercedes. The car does boasts a special kind of presence everywhere, with it being a dark royal blue colour and a v8 model.
During my ownership I have given it a full service, replaced front and rear suspension, tyres, new driving rack, added new battery and gave it a full electrical check which found no issues with the car.
Bodywork wise the car is in excellent condition with no signs of rust underneath and the original paintwork shines as it should, the rear window has slight delamination which being the only slight negative. Sills are solid and it comes with original catalytic converter and rims, thus have been kept standard throughout its life time of ownerships.
The car comes with some history and is in overall good condition for age, and would certainly benefit from having someone that would use it for special occasions, travelling or a simply company or TV show car.

I am hoping ideally for a straight sell although can accept px or reasonable offers if it is for the right person to buy - but please, genuine and sincere people only as I would much appreciate it. I have first bought this car from Ireland given my love for w140s, and it was in fact my third w140 owned, my first being a standard silver s280, second a showcar white s280 and reason for buying this is its v8 4. 2 litre engine and suffice to say as the first v8 it certainly did not dissapoint. I have since driven my s420 around Scotland and Yorkshire regions for personal pleasure and also chauffeuring friends which and been a long standing interest of mine until October 2023 where it was stored away. Now surplus to requirements due to my health, thus it would benefit from going to someone else who would similarly appreciate and drive it on the road.
