FOR SALE: 1984 Porsche 928 S2
The 928, originally conceived by Porsche to replace the 911 as their flagship model, was the first inhouse production model designed and manufactured by the company. The 928 won the European Car of The Year award in 1978 during its first year of manufacture.
This Porsche 928 S is a desirable 1980s grand tourer, equipped with a powerful and sonorous V8, a rare manual gearbox, and a selection of modern conveniences.
For the market in the UK, the 928S was rebranded as the 928S2 in 1984. The 4. 7-litre V8 engine had a slightly higher compression ratio of 10. 4:1, providing a hike in performance to 310bhp over previous models, increasing drivability and providing a more involved experience, aided by the fitment of a 5 speed, dog leg, manual transaxle, fitted at the rear of the car for weight distribution purposes.
The Bosch LH-Jetronic fuel injection system was fitted, together with an EZF dual distributor ignition system.
