Description
An original Military owned Series 1 Land Rover built in 1951 and originally registered by British Army with registration 03BH93. The British Army sold the vehicle at which point a Great Uncle purchased the car and was registered 182VTN in 1963 and the car has remained in the family since. The car has the 1600 petrol engine and is the SWB (80) model in very original condition. In recent years the car has has had leaf springs replaced, suspension repaired, new exhaust, chassis reconditioned, brakes reconditioned, Seats repaired, radiator reconditioned. All original parts of the car are here including Solex Carburetor, original fuel pump. The car starts and can be Driven but has slightly low compression on one cylinder. The Canvas canopy is also new. Unsure of Mileage as odometer does not work. A very original vehicle that will be sadly missed however I don't have the time or expertise to give it what it needs. MOT and Tax ExemptThis car has been in the family for over 60 years and used to be the mode of transport to visit the family holiday cottage in Weardale with 7 passengers onboard. The car then sat garaged for a lot of years due to ill health and no longer being required. The car was then was recommissioned about 10 year ago to be able to use locally with the Grandchildren. The time has come that time and expertise with the car mean we have reached a point where it should really be moved onto a true enthusiast of these cars who can give it what it truly needs and restore to its former glory.
