Description
Registered 9/ 9/ 99, this Piaggio Vespa PX125 scooter started its life in Leeds, covering 11349 before migrating to the north east in 2012, where it has remained.
It has had seven previous owners, the last being my scooter enthusiast friend who carried out a full restoration at 17530 miles before selling it to me in April 2019.
The restoration included the installation of a Malossi-166 kit, the addition of a full Revolver exhaust system and also added braided brake hoses to the front end.
The fantastic Scooterotica of Ripon then tuned the engine which has resulted in an extremely reliable 60mph scooter producing 14bhp (more than doubling the standard 6. 5bhp).
Since 2019 I’ve covered ~300 dry miles per year to bring this Vespa to the 18759 miles that you’ll see on the latest 02/ 04/ 2024 MOT cert. * Note that the PK model previously stated on MOT certs was incorrect - the V5 document correctly states ‘PX’ and the DVLA have now rectified the error*
Apart from a couple of stone chips on the front mudguard, this scooter is in excellent condition, even underneath, and always gets a wipe-down after every ride. All three Michelin tyres are in good condition with ~3mm tread depth. I’ve also just fitted two new headlight bulbs ready for Autumn/ Winter so that you don’t get caught out on the way to or from work. The reason for sale is that I also own a motorcycle and don’t get the time to ride either as much as I’d like to, so unfortunately for me the scooter is going to be the one to go.
Looking at adverts for similar Vespas across different sites, I’ve set an asking price that should hopefully result in a quick sale.
So if you are looking for a scooter that has classic style but is also reliable and able to keep up with traffic, needs no work and one that you can just ride and maintain, this one is a good choice.
