1963 VW beetle 1200 deluxe.
Owned since 2009, fully restored in 2013.
Restored using as many of the original parts as I could and replaced everything that I couldn't save or were serviceable with 2nd hand original or quality OEM parts. All patches from previous MOT welding work were cut off, all rot cut out, and replaced with new quality panels or fabricated steel matching original gauge so it looks like it has never been welded. Seat frames and engine tinware were powder coated, original wheels and shell sand blasted, sealed with epoxy primer then painted. There is blistering in various areas.
Wolfsburg West seat belts and all original glass, Day Moulding wings all round, brand new wiring loom, engine and gear box rebuilt, all new brake system, TMI interior, original stainless steel bumpers, the list goes on.
Only modification is the dropped spindles on the front (originals included) and two turns lower on the rear that can be reversed to standard hight easily enough. Wing indicators are included in the sale but never refitted.
Lovely daily driver, show car or collectors classic that always turns heads. Made in Belgium on 5th Oct 1963 and delivered to the UK 5 days after. No history between then and 2009 when found in a garage by owner #4. I then purchased it and carried out a full restoration with hundreds of photos and invoices ready to pass on with the car. Lots of original parts such as the jack, glove box manual etc.
