1973 Daimler Sovereign Series 1, 4. 2 Litre, 4 Speed Manual With Overdrive
Genuine RHD Home Market vehicle, manufactured 23rd March 1973, dispatched 04th April 1973 to original distributor W. L. Cotton Ltd of Worcester.
Supplied new 17th April 1973 to the first owner, Windshields Ltd in Worcester as a Company car for one of their Directors. Upon retiring from the Company in 1976, the Director accepted the Daimler from the Company as part of his leaving package. The Daimler remained in his long-term ownership, later being placed in storage and remained so until 2009 when it was gently recommissioned after he sadly passed away.
Since this time, the Daimler has continued to enjoy low ownership. The next owner retained the Daimler until 2016, at which point ownership changed to current family ownership. During the past 8 years of family ownership, the Daimler has been fastidiously maintained. Current mileage is a mere 49K miles from new, supported by the accompanying Daimler Service Passport, Heritage Certificate and comprehensive history folder containing a plethora of invoices. The Daimler is also accompanied by its original period Operating, Maintenance and Service Handbook, Sales and Service Facilities Booklet, rare Sales and Marketing Brochures, Posters and Price List.
Present day, the Daimler forms part of a private collection and remains in fine fettle, with both the Lavender blue paintwork and French blue leather having a lovely classic patina. The matching numbers 4. 2 litre engine, gearbox and overdrive are all in smooth-running order. Further attributes include a Bell Stainless Steel Exhaust with period correct ‘straight’ tailpipe finishers. Other than the odd age-related wear and tear blemish, the structural chassis and coachwork are also exceptional for their age. MOT and Tax exempt.
