Description
- Vehicle acquired by me in December 2021 from a collector, being the second owner in UK since imported from Japan and registered 1 January 2020 (registration document included).
- First registered in Japan 1 September 1972
- Prior to my ownership, Alfaholics outer sills, wing repair sections, rear outer valance, left and right front floor plans, all replaced in October 2020, followed by full respray.
- registered as a historic vehicle so tax and MOT exempt.
- Since being in my ownership, much work has been carried out with parts from Alfaholics in Clevedon with majority of work carried out by classic car specialists, Jworx Automotive in Bourton on the Water. Work includes the following:
August 2024 - fitting of new front and rear seat covers, replacement floor bungs, new GTA wheel centre badges, GTA stainless steel wheel nuts, inner door handles and window winders. (New door cards are on order to complete the interior restoration and will be fitted prior to sale)
September 2022 - fitting of new H4 conversion headlight kit, fitting of new 123 electronic ignition with new HT leads.
June 2022 - full inspection and full service, complete new brake kit all round (calipers, discs, pads, new flexi hoses), Alfaholics fast road suspension kit, new coolant hose kit, Alfaholics aluminium carb mount kit with rubber buffers and inlet manifold gasket kit, replacement thermostat and gasket, replacement fuel tank sender with new gasket and screws, offside wing repeater, both windscreen wipers, rear exhaust section with fittings, new Bridgestone tyres all round.
May 2022 - refurbishment of original magnesium alloy wheels by Reinventing the Wheel, Tewkesbury.
December 2021 - fitting of new front and centre section exhaust with new fittings.
I would say the car is in a fair condition bodywork and in very good mechanical condition. I am selling due to a lack of use and wish for something slightly more modern classic and bigger.
The car is getting some use and driving very well, handles both local roads and motorways very well, with plenty of power available.
Minor issues to mention include:
- original 8 track Alfa Romeo radio unit is still fitted but no working
- the respray is not perfect, bonnet has some unevenness of finish
- some slight corrosion of external chrome parts including door handles and door mirrors.
- some window rubbers would benefit from being replaced
- speedo and rev counter are missing their cowlings
- dashboard has a couple of the very typical cracks in the upper surface.

This is a beautiful example of one of motoring's iconic 2 door convertibles with plenty of charm and character and great driving enjoyment available.

- just as practical for running around the countryside and about town, whether with the roof up or down.
- excellent heating system makes this a practical car for the winter months too, many a run has been had with the roof down and the heater blasting!
- practical and easy to maintain, tastefully restored and gently modified (electronic ignition and fast road suspension) make for a safe and exciting drive with plenty of feedback. The car is sold and stable on the road, very much improved over when I purchased the car.
- Excellent performance from the 130 bhp low mileage 2000 twin cam engine and a beautiful gentle rasp from the twin Weber carburettors.
