Description
A UK car, albeit in LHD as they were back then, this early 101-series Sprint was first supplied by Thomson and Taylor at Brooklands. It changed hands a few times - the original log-book is still present as is the distinctive registration of XXW 4 - before arriving at Jon Dooley's Brookside garage for restoration. Several years passed before Jon took the project on himself with a partner. The car was prepared to lightweight Veloce competition specification HTP compliant at the time of the build with a 106-numbered engine on twin Weber Carbs and aluminium alloy panels to the doors, bonnet and boot. In my ownership the car has been prepared for Driving Tours, Bespoke Rallies, Classic Car shows and Road runs.
