Description
1964 Land Rover Series 2a
Also known as the rarer 'Rover 8'
2. 25 petrol that starts and runs beautifully. Recent new carb and brake servo. Fully serviced.
The ERM is: 64EL91 - B card present.
It started life in 37 Engineer Regiment Royal Engineers where it served for 6 years. It is likely to have been used for engineering tasks and personnel movement before finishing its service with the CCF training in Sussex. It was eventually cast in Jan 1974.
Since being acquired into civvy street it’s clearly been well maintained. For the purists you could repaint it however we liked the character given to it, most likely by the students at the CCF. It’s most likely the camouflage theme and snorkel was done by the CCF cadets. It has about 400 layers of paint and is nice and straight. The Series 3 wings were most likely added at the CCF, if not many many years ago.
It comes with its original canvas & hood sticks, its worn but apart from a small tear on the roof it does the job. I have 2 door tops for it, they are not great but its always been dry stored and used with the roof off so we have never needed them.
Tyres are all very good, brakes are very good! Chassis, bulkhead, doors, a pillars & footwells are all very good too! The chassis hasn’t been laced with waxoyl and is original. It’s had a couple of small patches but nothing significant. No welding is needed, happy for an inspection to take place to confirm.
Located ST14 in Staffordshire. I wont accept IOU's, swaps or vouchers - serious enquiries only please. This is getting a very rare vehicle being a 2a & Rover 8, especially one like this that isnt rotten. It will sit at 55mph all day long and really is a delight to drive.

Please note that most of the original features still remain including the original convoy light, gun holsters & switches. It also has an electronic ignition and recent new battery.
