Description
Due to unforeseen circumstances I am having to sell my 72(Dec) Z1 finished in period correct Candy tone Brown and Orange. It is matching numbers correct, confirmed by a letter from Kawasaki UK, Restored by a well known Yorkshire enthusiast/ restorer. It has quite a lot of original 72 specific dating features such as early forks, early timing chain tensioner and early rear hub.
The bike has been restored over the last 18 months, the frame has been powder coated, the tank set has been re sprayed to an excellent standard, it has a new wiring loom, new chain and socket, new seat, new headstock bearings, new mudguards front and rear, new rear shockers, new bt56 tyres, a new full exhaust system and clamps, this is not date stamped, the very early exhausts weren’t stamped. Both wheel rims have been re- chromed and are date stamped 72.
The engine has been stripped and new rings fitted and the valves been re-cut and shimmed. The black engine has been Ceramic coated and looks stunning. There are no oil leaks. This bike has been fully restored. as such it maybe lacks the originality pedantic critics may be looking for, however it is a matching numbers machine including the wheels, it was built in the very first 5 months of production which make it a highly desirable example of the legendary Z1.
