I bought this T16S in March22 after missing out when it came on the market previously just a year earlier. The combination of red with Carlsson wheels and aero kit has always been the best look in my opinion and it certainly turns heads and receives positive attention. The 250k mileage might concern some, but it is a Saab after all and take a look at the condition of the car and you can see that it has been loved and cherished. It may have traveled to the moon, but this Saab will be making the return trip too!
I have a complete receipted service history for the car from new and the first 3 owners accounted for 237k miles up to 2016, so it has in fact lived a relatively spoilt life for the last 8 years and only covered 14k.
I have spent over £3k bringing the bodywork to the condition you see in the photos, plus it had a full engine service and a recent oil change at the start of this year. With a T16 Convertible in my garage that does even fewer annual miles, even my degree in man economics cannot justify keeping both of them.
The aircon belt has been absent since I bought it, so I dont know if that works, but it is not an issue for me in Scotland. All the mechanics and electrics work (including the aerial) and it has given me fuss free enjoyment. Every time I drive the car I am still blown away by the overtaking oomph and the way it handles the twisties.
I listed the car earlier in the year with an overly optimistic price and have significantly reduced the price. I will sell at something close to the advertised price, but I am not desperate to sell, so please dont make a silly offer. I might be interested in a PX against an older 911 that needs some work.
There are lots of Saab convertibles for sale in the market, but very few genuine T16S hatchbacks that are as well maintained as mine, so if you are interested, then dont miss out like I did..!This Saab is no low mileage garage queen but it has been well maintained with £23k of receipts as evidence. The combination of red, grey leather, aero kit and Carlsson wheels is THE classic Saab look and thats before you turn the key and the engine starts burbling! I am regularly surprised how fast and nimble it feels compared to my modern daily which has more than twice the power and 4WD. Saab just really knew how to build special cars!
