Due to ongoing health issues, I’m having to part with my much-loved S2000. It’s a GT AP1 in Nurburgring blue, black interior and the soft top is in good condition. Everything works electrically and it’s pretty tidy inside.
I’ve owned the car since 2009, bought it from my local dealer and it’s been off the road since 2017. Since then I’ve had the head gasket and water pump replaced. I also had the head skimmed. The timing chain tensioner has been replaced.
The engine and gearbox are great and it starts and runs beautifully, sounds great with no knocks and is completely original. It drives wonderfully, as you would expect, and handles beautifully. I appreciate I’m preaching to the converted here!
My dad, who’s a time-served mechanic with 50 years of experience did a lot of the work for me and the book has stamps from my local dealer as well as servicing at TGM Sport. The head was skimmed at Tom McKean’s superb workshop in Dumfries.
The plan was to work on it to get it roadworthy again but the sill needs a bit of welding to get it through its test and trying to find a decent welder near me has become a bit tiresome. I need someone to enjoy this great car now rather than it looking sadly at me on my driveway!
