Description
A vibrantly specified example of the seldom-seen and increasingly sought-after Lancia Delta HF Integrale 16v, which boasts low mileage and a recent engine rebuild.
It is powered by a rebuilt 2. 0-litre turbocharged 16-valve inline-four, driving all four wheels via a five-speed manual transmission.
Specially ordered by the official Lancia importer of Japan, Garage Italya Co Ltd, the car was specified in Rosso Monza paintwork, and highly optioned with black hide leather interior, air conditioning, ABS and front fog lights. Japanese market cars featured a rear radio antenna, lower side repeaters and HF badging, which differed from European specification cars.
First registered in May of 1991 in the Saitama prefecture just outside of Tokyo, the car would remain in Japan until it was later exported to the UK, having covered only 85, 300 kilometres. The car was first registered with the DVLA in November 2013, and a copy of the export certificate is included within the car’s history file.
The car has benefitted from a recent engine rebuild being completed in September 2023 by renowned Lancia Specialist Tanc Barrat
The odometer shows a modest 89387 kilometres from new.
This Delta HF Integrale 16v is finished in Rosso Monza over a black leather hide interior, with perforated seat centres and white contrast stitching on the seats.
As a Japanese-market car, this example is differentiated from European cars by its rear radio antenna, lower side repeaters, and HF badging.
It rides on a correct set of 7x15 inch Lancia alloy wheels
Factory options include ABS, front fog lights, and air conditioning.
The only noted modification is a Supersprint exhaust system back box.
The car will be sold with a full set of books, an original brochure, its Japanese export certification, a Japanese VX car check (equivalent to an HPI check), as well as a comprehensive file of previous MOT certificates and correspondence. The original tool kit and spare wheel are present with the car.
The car’s last MOT test was conducted in October 2023 at 88, 729 km resulting in a second-time pass with no advisories.
This Delta HF Integrale retains its original numbers-matching engine which has recently been subject to a rebuild completed in September 2023. The original Garrett turbocharger, starter motor, and clutch master cylinder were also rebuilt at this time, along with the gear linkage and front and rear anti-roll bar bushes being replaced. The car was kept in a private collection and covered fewer than 1, 000 km since 2013. The servicing performed during this time is unknown.
This 1991 Lancia Delta HF Integrale 16v is a well-preserved, low-mileage example of the rally- inspired Italian hot hatch, which has been recommissioned after a long stretch off the road within in a private collection, with work including a full engine rebuild, and a general mechanical overhaul. It is now ready to be driven and enjoyedThis is a very genuine rust free example with lots of original charm and in fantastic mechanical condition it turns heads whenever I go to a Classic car meet. The EVO versions of this car are now in excess of 100k which makes the 16v far more accessible at the moment. Prices of these can only be going one way.
