Description
Porsche 911 - 2. 7 narrow body coupe,
9 previous owners, its always been registered here in the UK.
Lots of invoices/ history dating back to the early 80's and it has a Porsche service book, albeit it has been stamped as a replacement, see photos, the book was stamped from 1979 -1993.
I've owned it for approximately 15 years and I've done very little to it, about 3 oil and filter changes and approximately 3000mils in my ownership. I've also replaced the discs, pads and tyres.
I used to get it MOTed every year but I've stopped in the last 3-4 years as it is exempt.
I bought it privately on or around 2009 and I only use it occasionally.
When I bought it it had blisters on the scuttle by the windscreen and on the galvanised bumpers and the previous owner said they were the same when he bought it, at the time I didn't really believe him, but incredibly they are virtually the same as when I bought it and it has not noticeably deteriorated any further.
The car looks great from 3 meters away :)
I'm happy driving the car as it is as I don't worry if it gets a knock here and there but the new owner may want to restore the bodywork.
When the car is stood idle for months on end, which it usually is, it burns a lot of oil which I'm told is seeping into the cylinder's past the rings.
If it is used weekly or more regularly, there is little or no signs of any problems.
I probably replace approximately 1 litre of oil per year.
I took it to 2 separate independent Porsche specialists over the years and they both said the engine needs a total rebuild to cure the oil leaks, they both said they wouldn't bother whilst it still runs OK.
Surprisingly it starts virtually first time every time, no matter how long it has been standing and pulls well. As you will see from the photos it has the correct wheels for its age and has virtually as new period Avon tyres, it has tan leather seats and an upgraded Porsche steering wheel, the, the electric windows as do all the lights and horn.
The sunroof has never opened and I've not tried to fix it.
