Cortina mk2 1600GT series 1, 1968, unfortunately. After afew spine ops and a knee replacement I am forced to sell my pride and joy due to unexpected ill health.
I did put this car up for sale afew years ago and it sold, but to a total timewaster who wanted to barter once he bought it. At the time of sale it had a couple of blisters in the paintwork so I decided to get a complete back to metal paint job.
The original colour was white but with a view keeping her i had the colour changed, It's looks stunning in the silver fox paintwork.
It's got the original engine which has been completely reconditioned afew years ago with around 500miles on it.
A new three piece clutch was fitted at that time.
The underneath has been totally undersealed.
Interior has been refurbished with all seats, dash, centre console, parcel shelf and rear boot totally retrimmed.
It's had new rear brake cylinders.
New front and back screen rubbers
New boot seal
All 4 new door seals and we all know how expensive they are.
New ignition coil.
New new starter solenoid.
Brand new remote brake servo
Many other new parts have been fitted, too many to list.
Front and rear bumpers are in excellent condition.
It sits on a decent set of rostyles with good tyres, however I do have a brand new set of 15" minilite style wheels which look amazing when fitted, these can be purchased as a separate sale.
The engine has the original twin choke webber which was running fine, I did want to fit twin webbers, so i have set of original
twin 40's webbers, jetted and complete with the inlet manifold ready to be fitted, these can be purchased as a separate sale.
The gearbox was running fine and so was the diff with no unusual noises. The engine has been removed to investigate a small leak, which turned out to be a small weep on the slave cylinder which has now been fixed.
