Description
VW Beetle 1303 in It’s original colour of Texas Yellow.
Registered new in August 1973 as an original UK car built in Volkswagens factory in Belgium.
Owned by me since October 2020 and used for car shows and days out during the summer. As the photos show this car is in fantastic condition due to a thorough restoration carried out during 2013/ 2014 by a previous owner. The car apparently was then put in storage until summer 2020 when it was handed to Mathewsons (bangers & cash) and put through one of their now famous auctions. Mathewsons described the Beetle as follows: “the work has clearly been done to a high standard and a spin around the block proved it to run along really nicely”. A car dealer from Alcester bought it from Mathewsons and some 6 weeks later I saw it advertised and bought it from the car dealer.
During the 4 years I have owned it the following work has been carried out:
New battery
New fuel pump
New distributor, cap and rotor arm
New fuel lines and vacuum pipes
New fuel tank breather pipes/ connections
New sump drain plug, filter, etc
Several engine oil changes
Tappets set
New spark plugs
As it is over 40 years old my beetle qualifies for road tax and MOT exemption. To insure the car on classic car status insurance cover this year cost me just £110 for a year.
Asking price is £13, 950 ovno. This Beetle gets admiring looks wherever I go and is so inexpensive to run. It’s colour makes it stand out at shows and will have many admirers.
