This is a rare first Series Lancia Montecarlo Spyder with exceptionally low mileage and very low number of previous owners. It has been my car since 2019 and had undergone the most extensive restoration, whilst retaining sympathetic age related elements such as the factory supplied red interior. In other words its not "over restored" . I bought this car from a fellow Lancia nut who had entrusted it to a local repairer who commenced bodywork without any real knowledge of the marque. Everything that had been done had to be reversed and rebuilt again. Panels have become frustratingly difficult to source so some have come from deconstructed Montes that were being converted to 037 replicas. This has meant that they have almost exclusively been Pininfarina factory originals. Replacements include front bonnet (super rare), both doors, both rear wings, he main back panel behind the engine and two rear floor pans. The car had been off the road for over 25 years and sadly not covered properly resulting in rust damage - but much of the body remained intact. Now restored the can has very little corosion at all and is 100% true to how it left the factory. The original engine had suffered water damage so a close numbers block was built into a new unit and this runs very well. Other parts include a twin pipe SS Monte Hospital SS exhaust, refurbed brake calipers all round by BigRed in worcester, new clutch and master cylinders, refurbed OE wheels shod with Uniroyal correct size HR tyres, replacement front and rear bumpers (factory - not repro), nearly every grill and vent replaced with excellent factory plastic units, refurbished OE Siem headlamps with excellent silvering, replacement front bumper indicators and Carello wing indicators, replacement used badging all round, and on and on............. Is the car perfect, no, but it is an honest restoration faithful to the manufacturers design. Is any UK Montecarlo perfect - not in my experience. This is however a genuine car offered at a very reasonable price. I will not accept any offers at all and the work done exceeds that done to the majority of cars offered. The number plate is original to the car and was one of a series of these short numbers assigned to the Lancia importer at new. This is believed to now be the only car on the road from that series. Original silver factory colour and no damage ever - so not categorised. Desirable Series 1 Spyder in a nice colour that highlights the Pininfarina lines.
