This is my 1986 Silver Spirit which has been in my ownership since August 2013.
I've spent a lot (£18, 444 to be precise) in maintenance and restoration over the years (with all the documentation) and it is a lovely car to drive. All maintenance has been carried out by an RR specialist.
Bodywork is clean as you can see from the images, and any inspection is welcome. I've covered over 11, 000 miles without a single hiccup and for a couple of years we even took her touring through Portugal, Spain and France. It cost more in fuel than hotels but you get the best parking space!
She got a ceramic coating on the paintwork before going into dry store during 22/ 23 as I was working away from home, and then she was serviced before putting her back on the road in December 23 - this service included rebuilding the carbs so they are nicely balanced now.
Its regularly running around Dorset now on sunny days and there is nothing than can beat looking at the Spirit of Ecstasy down a long shiny bonnet.
So why selling? I've toyed with the idea for a few years as I'm getting on a bit and perhaps time to revert back to type in an old Volvo and a packet of Werther's Originals? Until the right buyer comes along I'll be happily pottering about and keeping her maintained - and worth noting that she is probably the only Spirit of its age where the cruise control still works!
I have the hugely expensive lambs wool mats and the dash and interior lighting has been replaced with LEDs from Classic Car LEDs - not the cheap rubbish!
Next MOT due 12/ 12/ 2024 but happy to put new MOT on for you. Come and have a look.... Why did I buy this one? It was a Saturday morning impulse buy, and I knew nothing about RRs, and certainly not disappointed. I see myself as the custodian while in my ownership so always chose the preventative maintenance route rather than wait until it goes wrong. I could have got away with spending a lot less over the years but decided that she is in such fabulous condition so I want to keep her that way.
