Description
1980 Pontiac Trans Am 6. 6L V8 Project
Bought with the intent of being a restomod but lack of time to do it means I've decided to sell it on.
This was a 1980 White Pace Car edition (one of 5700 built) initially sold in Canada with the 4. 9L turbo V8, imported in 1993, and at some point the original engine was swapped to a 6. 6L Pontiac V8 (the 400, not the 403).
It was painted black by a previous owner in around 2012 to look like the traditional Bandit car, but that paint was failing all over, so it was sanded back and painted the current blue you see it in now. This paint is not in great condition especially on the front urethane bumper, and is peeling in places, so would likely need repainting depending on your preference.
It passed an MOT and was on the road 2021 for a while, and since has been awaiting the work it needs to make it a really lovely (and if done properly, valuable) car. Mileage on the odo is 13, 078, but I'm not sure it's working so can't guarantee that's its true value.
It starts and runs, but is SORNed so will need to be taken away with a trailer and something that can carry a lot of parts / spares.
Various mechanical issues have been fixed in my ownership, including replacing bent control rods in the carb and resetting the timing properly, replacing the steering cush connector which was causing steering play, and replacing worn engine mounts.
Happy to answer any questions + have videos of it running taken recently if needed.
I'd expect anyone serious about buying it to view beforehand, as it's sold as it's seen.
Bank transfer or cash preferred.
