Description
One lady owner driver from new, 1934 Daimler Lanchester LA10 saloon, preselect gears, all paperwork with the car for verification.
Miss Violet Pearson bought the car from new November 1st 1934, drove 79000 miles until July 21st 1971, the car failed the MOT on brakes and king pins ( I have MOT failure slip ) never having any work done before on the car before Violet was reluctant to pay for the repair's so drove her car home put it in the garage , that's where it stayed till her death 2002 ish.
Her Cousin took the car home with the intention of getting it back on the road, but never got around to it. He then sold it to a friend Mr G Pike who intended to get it back on the road, again it never happened.
I met Graham pike in 2021 and offered to help get it back on the road for him, the car was in a mess having sat in the garage for 50 years.
Engine out, on inspection the block had rotted out internally, ( l have kept the block as a record as to what happened )
Refurbished engine bought from Daimler Lanchester club fitted, the original block can be repaired I’m told if you want to go down that road.,
All the excess road dirt cleaned off, all mechanics freed up, worn parts replaced, wheels cleaned painted new inner tubes and tyres, carburettor stripped and rebuilt, new wiring loom fitted, new rubber seals fitted all round, radiator refurbished, head lining replaced ( old material just rotted out, front seat swabs recovered, all remaining leather brought back to life, carpets replaced were nessesary. All bodywork still in original condition and paintwork very good considering the age, no welding done, all had a good clean up.
Lots of paper work from new.
When I finished the work Graham tells me he cannot afford the money I spent on the car also has no where to keep it, l haven’t even charged him for the hours I spent on the car so now he has agreed for me to sell the car to recoup the money spent on the car.
This is a bargain of a car, one lady owner driver lovely original car and all the correct paperwork and lots of spares to go with it.
If you need any more information let me know.
Thank you.
