Description
This car was supplied by Gilberns Bristol Agents GS Cars in January 1968, as it is an early Genie it is fitted with the AH 3000 rear axle which has the benefit of a removable front facing differential, and huge finned rear brake drums. It was fitted from new with knock on splined Mini Lite wheels as opposed to the normal 56 spoke wire wheels.
The car was taken off the road in 1977 for a re-spray that has never been finished, there is some slight body damage to the N/ S rear wing, which is repairable, however if needed a new panel is available from the owners club.
Most of the parts to complete the car are with it, which includes all of the glass, however the front screen has a crack in it, again new ones are available from the owners club.
At some point the original grill centre has been changed, the all important grill mounted Racing Dragon Gilbern badge is now located on the boot lid. Again the correct grill centre is available.
The chassis will need some welding repairs, but it is generally in very good condition for a Genie of this age. The car comes with a history file with a green card logbook, a bill of sale to the last owner in 1974 and some old MOT certificates, and more importantly a current V5C.
It is important to point out that whoever takes on the interesting and worthwhile project, there is a great back up in new and used spares from the owners club, so membership is a must.
