I purchased this fantastic little car summer 2022 from Goodwood Sportscars as I wanted one of the rarest (only 500 made) and most desirable Eunos models. Production started July 1994 and all were finished in Montego Blue (it flips between green and blue in the sun) with a lightened fly-wheel, Torsen LSD with shorter diff ratios, BBS alloys, Nardi leather steering wheel and gear knob and Recaro bucket seats which are unfortunately long gone from my car!
“Vera” has now done about 122k miles in her 30 years and had a substantial engine re-build (new big ends, cylinder head, piston rings etc) at 100k miles (invoice pictured). The engine is completely standard and had the following work done in March 2024 at a cost of £736 (invoice pictured):
Cam Belt / tensioners / water pump; Rocker cover gasket; Front crank shaft seal; Front cam shaft seal; Thermostat housing gasket; Auxiliary belts.
She has a new MOT that runs until 23rd September 2025.
She has power steering, electric windows, door mirrors and aerial. Like a couple of other RS Ltds I saw at the 35th anniversary rally in July, there is a blue mohair soft top (glass window) which looks great and doesn't leak.
It was supplied with standard Mk2 shock absorbers and Apex springs which apparently are a touch lower than standard and keep the car compliant on B roads without being too hard, and Sports Drive frame rails fitted to stiffen the bodyshell.
The bodywork overall is now really good (apart from small mark on boot lid) as I've just spent over £2800 with the highly respected restoration team at Cotswold Accident Repairs. They replaced the driver's side sill (inner and outer) and rear arch, the passenger sill had all rust cut out and fresh metal welded in, and the nose cone repainted and Bofi RS Lip fitted to preserve the car ready for the next owner (invoice pictured). I have applied a stick on front plate as it is a personal choice whether to go central or offset and didn't want to drill new holes! Front standard plate included.
It comes with 2 keys, user manual and some history alongside a lovely sounding IL Motorsport exhaust (again already fitted when supplied). The interior was retrimmed at some point and should really go back to factory spec therefore it will come with an original centre console, tombstone / vents, crash pad, speedo binnacle and gear stick / gaiter that I've sourced.
The original Recaro seats were replaced at some point with very supportive Sparco bucket seats (usual wear on driver's bolster) that are really comfy and prevent sliding around so I didn’t see the point in swapping back to standard cloth seats and wasn’t prepared to spend £5k on a pair of worn Recaros!This is one of the best value RS Ltd for sale with the price reflecting the lack of Recaros. There are a couple of small jobs I didn't get round to such as wheel refurb and swapping the interior back but you’ll get a car for the remainder of the summer that drives and handles brilliantly and will only go one way in value over the coming years.
