A very rare opportunity to acquire one of the rarest limited edition Range Rover Classics, the "Range Rover in Brooklands Green", 1 of only 150.
The most sought after RRC is the 3-door Beluga Black CSK of 1991 and 200 of these were produced and a beautifully restored example has been advertised with a price tag of £125, 000!
Plenty of CSKs have survived as a lot were cherished and recognised as a surefire future classic, whereas the Brooklands has suffered a much higher rate of attrition almost to the point of extinction as there was no badging on the car at all, or mention on the logbook, only the special paint colour and bodykit identified it as something special, and sadly the vast majority of the original issue of 150 have rotted and gone to the great scrapheap in the sky.
My car is totally original and unmolested. Aside from one body panel, all the paintwork is the original factory applied Brooklands Green paint, this is astonishing on a Range Rover. The provenance is superb too. The current registered keeper has had the car getting on for 20 years and there are only two previous owners. When delivered new it wore the prestigious number plate "K1BMB" and was very much a smart and cherished Range Rover, it has never been off road, never had a towbar fitted, its first decade or so was very much as an urban status symbol. Fifteen years into its life it was then bought by an enthusiast and taken to classic car shows as his pride and joy. The car has only 117, 000 miles and is HPI clear.
Due to its very low owner status, my Brooklands still sports all of its original features that are the signatures of this special edition. Not pictured, but it comes with it original special 5-spoke alloy wheels in enamel grey with a bright finish outer rim, these have never been repainted or messed with. The special uprated hi-fi package is present and correct with original Range Rover headunit, 6-speakers and the boot-mounted CD autochanger, and the TWR-designed sports bodykit is complete.
As with every UK-supplied Range Rover Classic there becomes a point when they need professional welding and an enthusiast keen to restore them. I have tried and failed to find anyone willing to undertake such welding work and I do not weld myself. Actually this Range Rover is nowhere near as rotten as a good many as has never been off road or left out in a field for years on end.
It is a project vehicle, but one that is wonderfully complete, never touched, or twatted about and has the potential to be absolutely stunning. Based on the 3. 9 Vogue EFI petrol V8 model, the 150 Brooklands editions looked so much smarter and eye-catching by virtue of their eye-catching bodykit which became known as the "Brooklands bodykit", then there is the classy and timeless deep Brooklands Green paintwork that was exclusive to this special edition, it is so dark it can look almost black in some lights, a very deep bottle green. Then there are the special 5-spoke alloy wheels (that had debuted on the CSK edition) which makes this Range Rover stand out from all the regular Vogue and Vogue SE models which abound.
ANY classic Range Rover is going to be appreciating in value now, but the potential for this ultra rare Range Rover Brooklands edition to be worth serious money once restored is guaranteed.
