This is a 1970 Buick Electra Convertible 225 Custom.
I bought this vehicle into the UK in March 2020 just as the first pandemic started, so only had one day to drive it on the roads and then lock down.
I looked at the car to see what I could do to it and only area lacking was the engine bay and under the hood.
I stripped out the easy bits, set about preparing and masking areas and then painted the areas. You will see the results in some of the pictures
I fell in love with the car when I found it in Pompano Beach in Florida and had to buy it
It has an extensive revamp and change probably in the 80’s and maybe by Cubans because they are the only ones I have found that would do this style
The work includes, removal of body trims, elongated rear spats over the wheels, false lakepipes, false bullseyes in rear quarter, lots and lots of louvers punched in the hood, square lights to front, dummy spotlights by wing mirrors, shaved door handle, door opening on electric poppers, continental kit on rear, throaty exhaust system with flat tips, interior revamped to match colour scheme
It should be remembered this vehicle is 54 years old and the major customisation was probably about 35/ 40 years ago so holding up quite well

The paintwork from 10 ft looks very good, obviously as you get closer you can some of the blemishes but there is no drastic rust areas. It has had a small bump of the front near side wing but not major and some of the chromework is in need of ideally redoing
