Description
1967 ‘Supercharged’ Mk 1 Austin Mini Cooper S 1275 OEW / Black Roof
This was a LHD Mk1 1275 S now converted to RHD that was exported in April 1967 to North America where it remained until a few years ago and is now registered with the DVLA on an interesting registration with all duties etc paid.
According to the heritage certificate the car was built on the 12th of April 1967 and came with a fresh air heater and an extra fuel tank as standard.
The car has undergone a complete restoration with subframes and running gear all media blasted and powder coated, the brakes, wheel bearings etc have either been overhauled or replaced with new parts where necessary.
It is currently running with an A-series Vmaxscart supercharger on an A-plus block and rod change gearbox with a 2. 7 final drive which makes it perfect for motorways. The original dismantled 1275 ‘S’ engine and gearbox is included in the sale price and will require sleeving and a complete rebuild. The car retains its ‘A0’ body number on the front panel and original VIN / chassis plate on the radiator cowling along with ‘FE’ number however it has had replacement front wings in the past.
The interior is pretty much original and does have tears etc in places and I have put Newton Commercial front recliners in as these are essential for longer journeys.
The car is now running on dry suspension and the running gear is standard other than stronger tie rods on the front and engine steady mounts.
Overall, the car is at an acceptable standard but there are areas for improvement regarding the interior which would include the speedometer being recalibrated however this is reflected in the price.
The car is located just south of Reigate which is just off Junction 8 of the M25, I work nights so I’m available for any questions or viewings after 11:00 am most days.
Asking Price £30’000
