This car was imported from Canada in 2013, it has its attestation that the vehicle is indeed matching number & matching colour. 1982 saw the debut of the "Cross-Fire Injection" fuel distribution system. This TBI (Throttle Body Fuel Injection) was not the type of fuel injection previously installed in certain C1 and C2 Corvettes.
The engine produced 203 bhp (149 kW) and was mated to a new four-speed automatic transmission with bypass torque converters in the first three gears. Compared with the previous 3-speed Turbo-Hydramatic, the new 700-R4 transmission had a lower first and second gear for improved acceleration at low revs, and a fourth overdrive that reduced engine speed by 30% at motorway cruising speeds, resulting in better fuel economy.
Published performance figures for the final C3 Corvette model were 0-97mph in 7. 9 seconds, the quarter mile (402m) in 16. 1 seconds at 137mph. This was the last year for the availability of the 8-track stripe and new cross-fire injection badges appeared on the front wings. The cross-fire emblems on the nose and fuel door changed to a more square design.
