Description

This is something special; an incredibly tidy Rallye-esque Peugeot 205, fitted with a GTi6 2. 0 16v engine!

The car chassis and engine have done 81k miles respectively, however in 2012- as part of the rebuild; very rare UK Rallye dials were fitted. These were not been recalibrated for actual mileage, instead keeping their own miles. Therefore, maths had to be done to work out the actual mileage, of which I have proof in the build documents and is clearly recorded in the previous MOT’s up to that year.
     
CHASSIS MILEAGE
The car body itself is a Peugeot 205 XE 3 door made on 22 April 1991; the chassis was at 68, 733 miles on 20 May 2012 - making the current mileage of the car, 81, 957 miles on 14th August 2024.

ENGINE MILEAGE
The XU10J4RS GTi6 engine fitted in this car was at 68, 108 miles on 20 May 2012, making the current mileage on engine 81, 352 miles on date of MOT, 14th August 2024.

No ABS and no power steering fitted, this is a raw car and has been built for the purpose of being a bit special, fast road focused but not without comforts. Having ABS and P/ S would absolutely have ruined what this car is about and keeps it in line with the 205 GTI’s philosophy.

Electronics including wiring loom and fuse box are located in OEM position and tally up with standard 205 fitment, makes working on this as easy as a ‘normal’ 205

As part of the conversion, rare UK Rallye dials were fitted. This allowed use of a rev counter and more accurate speed readings. GTI dials are possible, but require a different loom and obviously less ‘special’.

Prior to fitting, engine benched and fitted with all new cambelt, tensioner, water pump, auxiliary belt, injectors, fuel filter, fuel rail, air filter oil filter, spark plugs, throttle cable, all new sensors fitted.

I’m selling my immaculate Peugeot 205 in ‘Blanc Meije’ white. This car has had a ground up rebuild, complete with a full respray, so has perfect paint and zero rust.

It also features a Peugeot 306 GTI6 engine and XSI gearbox amongst its highlights, giving 167bhp and 142lb/ ft. torque in a car that weighs circa 800kg.
This car is a reliable classic, superbly dependable due to its modern engine and starts on the button every single time, always garaged, left on a trickle charger and used regularly in summer.

Fantastic condition both inside and out, I believe that this is one of the best examples 205’s currently for sale, with superb bodywork, extensive service history and being mechanically perfect.

Major service in June 2023 (at 154, 395 miles according to Rallye dials) included:

Most recently, the car has been to Peugeot 205 specialist’s PUG1OFF for a full vehicle health inspection carried on 09/ 09/ 2023 at 154, 881 miles (according to Rallye dials)
This has come back with a clean bill of health and some small advisories that have since been addressed. All documented in the service history.

SUMMARY
The car has got a brand new MOT on it, one advisory for having some grease on exterior of the central brake pipe.

Overall, the car is in remarkable condition, uber reliable, thanks to the modern engine and it gets a lot of admiration and nice comments from fellow motorists. Filling at the petrol station is always nice as you will get someone say something positive about the car.

Issues wise; for a classic car you’ll be amazed to know that there is one only:

The mid-section of the exhaust sits close to the XSI gear linkage due to a worn exhaust rubber mount. It doesn’t affect use in anyway, but it’s on the list anyway as a new firm one will stop any reverberation in the rev range when pushing on. I am in the process of hunting one down.

Car comes with 3 keys, it has a Toad Cat1 alarm fitted with 2 remotes, I don’t bother using this though. It also comes with 2x remotes to control the remote central locking.

The V5 in my name and loads of history, receipts.

The car has a full year’s MOT and runs out on 13th August 2025. I have no doubt that the car will fly through the next MOT without issue, just as it did this year.
