I bought the car from North east sports car salvage in December, it had had a front end collision, only the the crash box and front clam had been damaged and an insurance claim had been made (CAT S). I have photographs of the damage. No Suspension or chassis damage to the car. North east sports car salvage repaired the car and repainted, the bodywork is impeccable. At the same time the wheels were powder coated anthracite grey. I have thoroughly checked over the car and see no signs of damage. It has had a full wheel alignment and all is good. I asked for the original Lotus wheel alignment specification to be carried out .
As soon as I got the car back from the paint shop I had it ceramic coated. Since I have owned the car I wanted it to be as reliable as possible so did a lot of preventative maintenance as well as upgrades:
* Gaz Gold Pro Coilovers custom made to suit my requirements, I asked for road / track and speed bump friendly. They can be adjusted from far too soft to far too hard. 1000 miles old.
* Every fluid has been changed.
* Both Lambda sensors have been changed for genuine Lotus / Bosch parts.
* Genuine Alternator and Belt.
* All Lamps upgraded.
* Every time I work on the car I replace Nuts / Bolts and fasters where possible.
* 4 New Spark Plugs.
* Fuel Filter.
* Breather Hoses.
* 4x Nankang Sportnex NS-2R.
* 4 wheel alignment, I got this done as a base to get a benchmark and have slightly altered it to suit my preference using the string method.
* Replaced all camber Shims.
* Gear box Oil and Seals.
* Genuine Carbon Fibre door cards, sill covers and air intake pods.
* Wheels Powder coated in Anthracite in December 2023.
* Bluetooth Radio calls and music.
I have also checked the head Gasket, it uses no coolant or oil. I have fully serviced the car. All engine fluids have recently been changed.
When I bought the car the previous owner had fitted EP Tuning floating discs, the brakes really are amazing, also the EP Tuning Hurricane/ Twister air intake. (Elise Parts. com)
The car received a full re-paint in December and is spotless especially for a car of this age.
