Rare factory 283Cu (4. 6) V8. (Early Draught Tube Breather Engine)
Factory heavy duty SM420 4 speed floor shift manual gearbox.
Heavy duty rear axle with Posi.
Rare factory AC Delco 2 speed electric wipers.
Most of these trucks came with a 6 cylinder engine, 3 speed column shift and vacuum wipers.
The truck has been fully restored to factory spec.
Full bare metal re-paint inside and out (£12k worth)
All the corrosion has been removed on the cab and replaced with repair panels or new panels fabricated where required.
The chassis is corrosion free and has had no welding.
The 283Cu V8 was lightly refreshed after a compression check and then given a full service including new water pump and intake manifold gaskets.
Fully refurbished Rochester 2G 2bbl carb.
It has full stainless side exit exhausts and headers fitted. I have restored the original GM Ram Horn exhaust manifolds and had them Cerakoted and come with all new hardware if you wanted to refit them for more of a stock look.
I have converted it to Alternator and stock appearing Pertronix electronic ignition distributor with new pertronix stock appearing HT leads.
Full new stock appearing wiring loom fitted.
All electrics and gauges work.
Radiator has been fully refurbished with a bigger core and never gets close to overheating.
Heater matrix was fully restored and blows nice and hot.
Rebuilt AC Delco fuel pump and fuel sender unit.
All the brakes are original style non assisted drums all round. Everything is new and stops pretty well and nice and straight.
All the suspension has been refurbished and new shockers all round. (leaf springs and king pins)
The gearbox is the original heavy duty SM420 4 speed.
It shifts well, but you can not rush the changes.
New clutch fitted and refurbished propshaft.
The interior is all repainted and refurbished. the original seat has been repaired and cleaned.
The cab has been fully dynamatted and a new carpet fitted over the top.
All the window mechanisms have been replaced with new units along with all the felts and door seals.
New door hinges and door locks/ latches.
Oak lockable wood chest in the back.
The truck gets loads of attention, is a multiple show winner and gets used every chance i get as long as its dry.
Will drive any where and will sit at 56mph comfortably all day long.
She drives like a 65 year old truck which is how i intended it to be. Please don't expect it to sit at 70mph on the motorway.
Comes with a recently bought high quality tailor fitted soft indoor cover.
2 full sets of keys (one set looks to be the originals the other set i had made up from reproduction GM blanks)
Huge folder full of every expenditure/ receipt i have spent.
