1994 MR2 mk2 Rev3 in Metallic Green with 129000 miles in near-original condition. There is a file of paperwork from previous owners and servicing for information.
I bought this car in 2016 as an MOT fail due to some corrosion on the sills (a common issue). All of the rust was cut out and replaced with new steel and two replacement sills so the car is now rust-free. After the repairs, the underside of the car has been waxoiled and undersealed: the car is dry-stored and has only been used in the dry for the last 8 years.
Mechanically, the car has been stripped and everything cleaned/ replaced or repaired as needed and it now runs as it should. Too many things to list here, but in summary, it has had:
New radiator.
Clear headlights (much safer!)
New suspension and brakes all round
Polybushed suspension.
Leather seats (original cloth ones were terrible)
Interior fully stripped and radiator core replaced.
All carpets and interior panels cleaned.
New Fuel pump.
Engine fully rebored and rebuilt in 2022 with Toyota parts.
New exhaust front pipe, catalyst and lambda in 2023.
Refurbished original wheels with good Toyo tyres.
Passes MOTs easily with no emissions issues.
The paintwork is reasonable for a 30-year-old car and most of it comes up really well with a polish but there are places where it is beginning to show its age, notably the roof where there are some patches of clear-coat degradation (hence the price)
If you want a mechanically sorted and reliable car then this is a bargain and will only appreciate. I have loved owning this car but I now need to move on to other things so am very reluctantly selling.
