Description
Toyota MR2 Turbo, used it in the Polish Hillclimb Championships, ready to run and with a lot of potential, both in hillclimb racing and in sprints.
Originally imported to Poland from Switzerland, this MR2 was sport-prepared but poorly, with a blown head gasket that the seller “forgot” to mention. The subsequent investment equalled the purchase price to bring it to an acceptable standard. The engine was completely rebuilt using top components, and the
interior was upgraded with a safer, certified roll cage from Ireco Motorsport, a modified central tunnel for a lower seat placement, and the removal of the original dashboard. Engine and interior work was meticulously carried out by the renowned Marek Mrówczyński in Poland. Aerodynamics were enhanced with reinforced splitter and rear wing mounts to eliminate flex that compromised downforce. The final touch added in July 2024 was a dog box gearbox with short ratios.
Car dry weight is ca. 1080 kg and full specification is as follows:

and driver control, before the advent of modern electronic aids. My MR2 pays homage to this legendary time and its direct connection between driver and machine, a relationship that fosters a deeper understanding of the car’s limits and capabilities. With no traction control, no ABS and no power steering—every turn, every acceleration, every brake becomes a thrilling testament to your prowess behind the wheel. While not eligible (yet, as the change seems to be coming) as a historic
car by FIA this Toyota MR2 possesses all the characteristics of those iconic vehicles that defined an era.
FIA Performance Factor calculated for the only 2024 race I participated in was 74, setting the car in 2B class, but small tweaks of aerodynamics would allow running it in 3A, or even 3B class. The car has a Sports car book by PZM (Polish Motorsport Association) and all necessary homologated
equipment in date (seat, belts, safe fuel tank and fire extinguishing system).
The car was used only about 300 km since rebuild (gearbox ca. 75km- bought in July 2024 for 5150 Euro netto).

Viewing is possible in Krakow, Poland where airport pick-up can be arranged. The price of course, does not reflect the costs in any way and includes an additional chassis in very good condition. The light, convenient trailer can be sold along the car. Exchange offers welcome, preferably for historic prototype of formula, modern prototype acceptable.
