Rare specification Audi A8 Sport in Santorin Blue with 'Aqua' theme extended leather interior.
For sale is my great looking, being 2000 (X-reg) face-lift model, Audi A8 in Sport trim. This is the best derivative of this modern classic to live with. Fairly simple and reliable 2. 8 V6 engine mated with 5 speed automatic gearbox with Tiptronic manual gear change option. No complex (and heavy...) quattro drivetrain. The Sport trim makes it look like the Audi S8 of that era – same interior with these fantastic fully electric adjustable Recaro leather seats with memory, same three spoke steering wheel and lowered suspension.
Above the usual high A8's specification it comes with heated front and rear seats, GPS satellite navigation (rather useless nowadays), rear window electric blind, rear side windows blinds, Audi Concert sound system with 6 CD changer, tilt and slide sunroof, power fold external mirrors.
Bodywork is 95% very good – some age related hair like scratches here and there, otherwise very shiny and solid – to me it looks like all original paint. No signs of corrosion whatsoever - guess why. Some stone chips were treated with touch-up pen straight away. New Bosch wiper blades fitted in March 2024 along with Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited headlights bulbs.
Engine and transmission are excellent with no known issues. No leaks whatsoever after I replaced valve cover gaskets. In March this year it has received a complete service to include: cambelt kit and water pump (INA), spark plugs (NGK), auxiliary belt, Millers 0w40 engine oil and engine flush before fresh oil application, fuel filter, engine air filter, cabin filter (all Mann-Filter). Two breather pipes and four cooling system pipes has been replaced along with thermostat (BEHR) and G12 coolant. New viscous cooling fan clutch fitted (just in case...). Automatic transmission oil (Genuine ZF) and filter also has been changed at the same time.
Suspension, brakes, steering – the suspension is tight and silent, front brake discs and brake pads have plenty of life. Rear discs and pads are 40% worn, but will easily last for 2 years year or even longer. Brake fluid and power steering fluid (all from Millers) changed in March 2024.
Both track rod ends replaced before wheel alignment has been performed. New CV boot fitted in July 2024.
Tyres, rims - All four tyres are matching Michelin Pilot Sport PS4 with 7mm+ of tread left. These are £180 each plus fitting. Virtually new 19 inch Ronal 'RS6 Style' alloy wheels in original colour - straight, never welded. Wheel alignment performed in April 2024.
Interior - unseen nowadays, classy 'Aqua' (blue/ grey) thick real leather interior with real Walnut polished wood trim and matching headlining in very good, clean condition. Driver's seat bolster with very little discolouration. Carpets and floor mats also clean. Everything works, heated seats, all electric windows, sunroof and remote central locking. Air Conditioning, re-gassed in April 2024, works as it should and blows cold when asked to do so.
The A8 comes with 2 keys, manuals, service history, and is HPI clear. I believe that vehicle's condition speaks for itself. For my peace of mind, as you can read above, I have done recently all the service items it needed (and more, spending well over £1, 5k...) as I had intention to enjoy it longer. The car is asking for nothing but an oil change in 8 months time. It's just too good to be used daily and deserves the ownership of another classic Audi enthusiast.
MOT certificate with no advisories valid till July 2025.
