1984 Porsche 924

For sale is our gem of a 924 (1984 2. 0 NA) It’s been a project me and my brother in law have been working on purely out of fun since Feb this year. We were looking for any type of project car, but settled on this as body wise it was so solid we couldn’t resist getting it back on the road.

Just pointing it out first, this car isn’t the same as the wrecks you find online. This car has ZERO RUST.

Finished in Garnet Red Metallic & a two town beige/ brown interior.

Upon purchasing, it didn’t run at all. We bought it ‘as is’ and after many months of researching this platform and working on the car we have now got it to a point where I would describe it as a 90% finished project. The 10% I’ve left as it becomes subjective how perfect of an example you want to make it. The front seats need a bit of attention for example. But, it’s a fully mechanically sound car. It’s just passed a MOT (which will be its last, turning 40 years old in November) and not even one advisory was noted. For the eagle eyed viewers, the black and silver plates are for show only, I have road legal yellow and white also.

The mechanic himself admired how solid the chassis and body was - finding zero signs of rust across the whole car.

As you can see from the photos, it’s a wicked colour combo with the Garnet red and White decals/ Wheels.

In the last 6 months to get it where it is today, it has had:

- Injectors removed and put in ultrasonic cleaner
- Borescope of cylinders - All ok
- ⁠Cylinders Pressure Tested - All ok
- ⁠New injector o’ring seals
- New fuel filter
- Fuel drained and re-filled
- Coolant flush and refill
- New oil filter
- Oil Change
- New air filter
- Strip and rebuild of air metering unit including new seals
- ⁠Strip and rebuild of fuel distributor including new seals
- New timing belt & tensioner
- New accessory drive belt
- New water pump
- Strip and rebuild of front brake callipers, sandblasted and painted with High Temp Paint, new pistons, seals and pads
- Strip and rebuild of rear brakes including replacement drums, shoes and new cylinders
- Brake fluid flush
- Replacement handbrake cable and switch
- ⁠New front and rear Bonnet and Boot Gas Struts
- ⁠New front Wipers
- ⁠4 New Tyres
- ⁠Refurbished original Wheels in White
- ⁠New Distributor Rotor Arm, Cap, HT Leads and Park Plugs

The asking price is really not easy to pin point. There’s so many poor kept examples, right the way up to a mint low milage turbo - which this is never going to be.

On a mere 97, 012 miles, we believe £4750 is a fair asking price. Offers though are more than welcome.
