I'm not asking for the £60k that concourse models demand. Whilst the mileage is not deemed as low, an average of less than 2500 miles a year is pretty low for any Mercedes. First owned by the Comedian Jimmy Tarbuck, this car must surely have stories to tell too.
'Jimmy' (as we named), appears mechanically sound and has been reliable during our ownership. The bodywork is in good condition with no dents and no nasty rust issues. Paintwork is good with minor signs of previous attention. An underseal has been applied to protect against the good olde British weather. It has been garaged and used in fair weather. Lots of receipts available.
Few of these now come to market, a sign of both rarity and a desire for owners to hold onto something truely special. OK, If you have £60k for a showroom condition concours model then great. If you want to spend less as a project to rebuild, then great too. But if you are looking for a clean and tidy, reliable classic to love, cherish and use, Jimmy is ideal. I've owned several 'nice' modern and classic cars but none compare to this car. I'm often stopped by admirers who don't know the model but appreciate it for its sleek lines and beauty.
Whilst there is a service history, it does not extend to it's full life. I had it checked over thoroughly when I purchased in 2 years ago and had works undertaken since that I would consider 'maintenance'.
