For sale I have this professionally restored (in 2020, see photos), sunroof, 1988, 5 door, VW Mk2 Golf GTI 8v in Jade green. This usable classic is an easy entry to the world of classic car ownership. In truly excellent condition, the car comes with the original instruction and service manuals, which shows the car's service record up to 80k miles, as well as all the MOTs, service bills and even the car's tax discs dating back to 1995. Since my ownership, I have had the cambelt replaced (at 101k miles), the rear screen replaced as the rear demister was faulty and had the heater matrix replaced. All of the switches, lights, gauges, sunroof, work perfectly. I have owned the car for 2 and a half years using it as my daily driver in all weathers, including through the winter. It has 102000 miles on the clock and MOT runs out on 1 Feb 25. The car has had 3 previous owners and was first registered in 1988. The 8 valve 1800 engine runs superbly and the gearbox linkage has been renewed. The interior is grey and in very good condition, with a black headliner which is in perfect condition - no sagging which is a common issue for these cars. All the locks are on one key. The car has been sympathetically restored by the garage I bought it from, and still looks superb. It has original BBS alloys and all exterior trim is present and correct. The car starts on the button and I would not hesitate to jump in the car and take it anywhere. This is a real alternative to the second car on your drive.
