The off-road vehicle icon. Designed at the behest of the Shah of Persia in co-operation with Puch. Development began in 1975 and the first civilian G models were delivered from 1979. The simpler body variant with the registration W460 was produced until 1990. Offered here for sale is a well-maintained 280GE with automatic transmission from the first series. Still with the narrow axles and without the somewhat intrusive mudguard panelling, now a real rarity. You hardly ever see this model at classic car meetings. The double-wing rear door, which is rare, should be emphasised. D First delivery. The mileage is plausible and traceable. A first-series G-Class in this condition is rare and has long been considered a true classic. The car has not seen any gel and has always been serviced. There is a folder with receipts and evidence of the work carried out. Most recently, a rust-free and refurbished steel tank and new dampers were installed. Over the winter, I had the rear wheel arches professionally refurbished by a sheet metal professional. Just as it should be. Exposing the critical areas, cutting out unhealthy sheet metal, inserting new sheet metal very cleanly and painting it very well. The interior is really well maintained with the optional Recaro seats in grey MB check fabric. The predominant use of lambskin covers is evident here in the almost virgin fabric upholstery. The car runs very reliably and is also sufficiently motorised with the six-cylinder engine. The frame is in very good condition. The underbody and the cavities have been repeatedly sealed with transparent wax. Over the years, the car has already been partially repainted in the course of the sheet metal work that affects almost every W460/ W463. This was also carried out professionally with supporting documents. The swivel arm with the spare wheel is present and was dismantled by me to emphasise the original simple character. The wheels with tyres were replaced in 2021. There is a new and unused winter wheel set from 2022 which is part of the offer. A trailer coupling is available. The steering gear has also already been renewed and the cylinder head overhauled. New starter motor. Speedometer overhauled at Kaja, fresh service with automatic transmission flush, stabiliser bearings renewed, front brakes new, rear brake drum overhauled, new ignition harness. Finally, the warm-up regulator was replaced and a new petrol pump with fuel filter installed. In the course of the latest sheet metal work, a very good original sheet metal tank was refurbished and fitted with new hoses and filler necks. And much more. Documents for inspection and will be handed over to the buyer. Invoice receipts totalling approx. 39, 000 euros since 2017 are available and confirm the continuous maintenance of the vehicle.
