I have owned and enjoyed this lightly and sympathetically modified 3. 8litre Jaguar MKII for the last 3 years.
Fitted with the highly desirable power steering option and automatic transmission, it mingles with modern traffic superbly.
Bodily in very good condition, having benefitted from a bare metal respray. The condition of the underside was the main reason for me buying this particular car after many years of searching. As you can see from the photos, the underside is very good.
During my ownership, in addition to normal servicing, the automatic gearbox has been rebuilt by renowned Jaguar gearbox specialist Transmission Technology of Knowle. I have also just had the front bumper and over-riders, together with a few other pieces, re-chromed by Prestige Electroplating of Mexborough and I recently fitted four new tyres.
The interior is in very good condition with very good wood, headlining and carpeting and benefits from XJ40 Daimler electrically operated and heated front seats, making for a more comfortable and usable classic.
I have just received the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Certificate which confirms the original dealer to be Charles Follett Ltd, London as can be seen on the door sill plates.
