Description
This is Luci, our 1994 Ford Probe 16V. She is one of the first Probes to be seen on UK roads with a registration of February 1994 which pre-dates the official release by a few months.
She comes in a bright red, which is still in very good condition considering the reputation of red cars of this era. We have then added the decals using automotive grade wrap, making it completely removable without damaging the paint, to add to the striking appearance as she was used to raise money for Alzheimer's Research UK.
We bought Luci in February 2024 in lew of a 4000 mile driving challenge across Europe. We bought her as a non runner with no keys and an alternator issue. The list of work we completed to get her back on the road and through her MOT is detailed bellow:
- New rocker over gasket
- New alternator
- New timing belt kit
- New boot gas struts
- Refurbished window motors, Left and Right
- New keys x2, Note car does not come with any fobs
- Disabled immobiliser, Common issue on this car meaning they are often disabled. Note alarm is still functioning.
- New Catalytic Converter and resonator, Note exhaust is loud but suits the rally art style
- Deep clean inside and out, Carpets and dash where dismantled to ensure a thorough clean.
- Refurbished wheels, very good for a home job but is some curbing visible through the fresh paint is you look closely.
- Vinyl Wrap decals, automotive grade wrap so completely removable, we prefer it and adds to the aesthetic and uniqueness so chose to keep it. New owner is welcome to make any changes.
The car is currently running smoothly with around 8000 miles completed since its MOT, including 4000 miles around europe where it never sipped a beat despite the Autobahn, Stelvio Pass and many other challenging drives. We have also daily driven it to work for over 2 months and it has handled it very well.
To note the cars idle could require a look, likely needs a throttle body refirb, but the car starts and drives well. We bought this little probe for its uniqueness, being 1 of only 100 Ford Probe 16Vs on the road, its coupe style low driving position, American cruiser seats and pop up headlights. Also its surprising spacious boot, perfect for road trips.
We have loved this little probe and the journey it has taken us on. But now the time has come for someone else to enjoy it.
