This unregistered 1979 MG Midget 1500 has a fascinating history. Originally purchased in 1980 from a British Leyland agent in Sheffield, the car had remained unsold since its delivery. The buyer acquired it by part-exchanging a Cortina MKV and soon advertised it in the "Yorkshire Post," where it was sold to a buyer from North Yorkshire. The car resurfaced years later, having passed through a few hands, and was eventually purchased by a dealer in Barnsley from the estate of its last owner. The MG Midget 1500 is the final iteration of the Midget series, produced between 1974 and 1980, featuring a 1493cc engine from Triumph, producing around 65 bhp. This small two-seater sports car, known for its agility and charm, retains a classic FR layout and a 4-speed manual gearbox. The Midget 1500 represents the end of an era for British sports cars, with this particular example offering a rare opportunity to own a piece of automotive history. Unregistered from new. In totally original condition (exactly as it left the factory). Routinely maintained but never driven on the road with just 14 pre delivery miles!
