Description
Here I have my late fathers Triumph Roadster 1949 which he has owned from when it was 4 years old. He and my mother drove all over Europe in this car but when he became ill the car took a back seat.
The car for most of its life has been undercover and was last on the road in 2015 when it went for its MOT after a substantial restoration.
The front bench seat & rear dickey seats have been recovered and re-filled. All the wood has been stripped and varnished. The carpets have been renewed and the hood is in great condition. There are over 8000 pounds of receipts for new brakes, woodwork, reconditioned gearboxes of which there are two spare.
It has the gearbox on the floor but we have all the parts to put it back to a gearbox on the column. There is also a spare engine as i believe the engine in it at present is the 2 litre and the one we have spare is the slightly less powered 1800 cc.
There are numerous spares: brand new clutch, carbs, air horns, chrome wheel trims, original manuals and too many parts to list.
The engine has been overhauled and comes with a new radiator and all the parts needed to re-commission this car and get it back on the road.
The paintwork is the cars negative but it is original and just needs a respray, the chassis is perfect with just some surface rust as it passed its MOT with no issue on the steel chassis.
The car is currently sat in a watertight garage but the only thing we don't have is the key but we will endeavour to find it but it wouldn't be hard to start it with a new battery and some fresh fuel.
We are asking £11000 with all the spares/ parts that will go with the car but are open to reasonable offers. In 1st class condition these cars command over £35k and with Bergerac returning to our screens this year it will increase the likelihood of the car becoming more popular. This car is of course famous for being in the Bergerac series with John Nettles and my father drove this car all around europe in the 50s and 60s before it became his show car and then it went away until he had time to dabble with it.
