FRESH MOT - 12 Months
Asking £1, 100, open to offers
Just passed its MOT for another year, with two new front tyres fitted. Advisories to monitor coil springs, two brake pipes, axle bearing dust cover and rear shock absorber bushes.
In excellent condition for its age, this Proton has been very reliable in the two and a half years that I have been driving it.
Mechanically, the car is extremely good. The 1. 3L Mitsubishi engine runs very well, and the gearbox is good. I pre-emptively changed the clutch last summer as it was just beginning to slip on longer journeys. I also replaced both tie rod ends. Oil and filters have been changed regularly. New tyres around 1 1/ 2 years ago.
Bodywork is in good condition considering age. The paint itself is excellent (I suppose you might call the colour Champagne Gold), but is let down a little by a few small dings and a small dent on the front driver wheel arch. There is also a little paint bubbling beside the sunroof. There is the beginnings of some surface corrosion in the boot and engine bay, but this has not worsened during my ownership. I did have to weld two small patches near the rear shock absorbers last summer.
The interior of the car is fantastic - the only real downside is the slight water stain on the driver's seat. Everything works as it should, and the car also has a Blaupunkt radio which came as standard when these were sold by the dealership (although this is not currently wired up). Unfortunately I believe the original owner did smoke in the car, as it had rather a pungent smell when I first bought it - however this has dissapated somewhat over time!
This car has been a lot of fun to own and drive. It's extremely rare and seems to get quite a lot of attention out on the road. A reluctant sale, as I have recently bought a new vehicle - I would like to keep it but I simply don't have storage space for two cars!
No outstanding finance/ total loss/ structural damage. Not imported.
