Here for sale we have my ULEZ compliant 2002 BMW Z3 2. 2 Sport with a Manual transmission and a full 12 months MOT. The car is finished in Pistachio green, a very rare colour for a Z3 that I didn’t even know was available until I acquired this one. I’ve never seen another for sale.
Since the car is equipped with the 2. 2L M54B22, it’s Ulez compliant and has one of the most reliable BMW engines ever produced. These engines can easily do over 200, 000 miles but this Z3 has only done 64, 500, so it’s got a lot of life left in it.
As you can expect of a car with such low mileage, it’s virtually rust free, also, both the interior and exterior show little signs of wear and tear, the worst imperfection being a small scuff on the front bumper.
It seems to be endowed with a pretty high spec as it’s got the the sport package which consists of Nappa leather electric and heated seats, a power soft top, LSD, uprated sport suspension, the facelift bumper and clear lights all round, a brushed aluminium centre console, and in this case, the much rarer and more desirable BBS R723/ 4 wheels (BMW style 42).
As you can expect with a 20 year old car it’s not perfect. As previously mentioned, there’s a small scuff on the front bumper which can be seen in the photos. Also, the soft top rear window is a little cloudy. Finally, the original BMW business head unit doesn’t seem to be fully working, you can sometimes hear that it’s trying to output sound to the Harman Kardon speakers but it’s not consistent. This may just be a blown fuse or something else minor but I haven’t had time to look into it, besides, the inline 6 is all the music you need!
Prices of these cars have seemingly shot up out of nowhere for the ULEZ compliant inline 6 models and there’s also a lot less on the market than I expected. I’ve had a look at the other Z3 sports for sale and pretty much all of them are some shade of silver or blue so if you want to stand out from the crowd with a rare colour this is the car for you.
