Description
This 1978 Alfa Romeo Alfetta Berlina is presented in Avorio (ivory) coachwork with contrasting cloth trim and alloy wheels. This example was imported from Italy circa four years ago or so by an Italian fried of mine. I purchased it off him three years ago and UK registered by me.
The condition of the coachwork and undersides are exceptional. The seam lines and panel fit are factory fresh. The doors shut with a reassuring clunk. The paintwork is very good with the odd age related mark. The undersides are waxed annually. The tinted windows look very good with the colour. The visibilty is excellent all around, with this and the Vitaloni door mirrors driving in the UK is easy.
The interior is also exceptional, the dashboard shows no signs of cracks and the instruments are crystal clear. The seats are unmarked and very comfortable; the fronts being reclining.
The mechanics are first class. The engine starts easily and pulls very well. In fact, you may argue that the cylinder capasity feels larger than it is. The brakes front and rear have been attended to with recent discs, pads and calipers. The gearbox is very tight and changes without any baulking (crunching) and without a sloppy gear lever. It is so good that those of you who have experienced these cars would not recognise the gear change on this example.
On the road, the Alfetta pulls very well and, with those brakes having been attended to, stops reassuringly.
The five Campagnolo alloy wheels have been recently renovated and have five new Pirelli Cinturato tyres fitted. These not only look good but improve the handling properties.
In addition, the car comes with a history file that includes a Alfa Romeo Archive Certificate, MoT test certificate, invoices, sales brochure and a UK V5C registration document.
