Reluctantly selling my Rallye golf. I’ve owned this car for a few years now & it has been a joy to own.

1990 VW RALLYE GOLF G60. Finished in Graphite Metallic ( the most favoured & desirable colour). First registered in Germany & imported to the UK in the early 2000’s. It has covered a mere 95, 000 miles (153, 000 KM). The body is in immaculate condition, as is the interior. * This is an original matching numbers vehicle , which is essential for those who wish to purchase the car as an investment *. In addition, the Rallye wears all of its key original features, which most have missing. This includes the original bonded windscreen, rubber side mouldings( most Rallye's have missing), front brake ducts, front wheel arch splash guards, fog lamp rubber shrouds & front bumper indicators ( Rallye specific).
Exterior/ Body:
Finished in LB7V Graphite metallic, the best colour for a rallye in my opinion. The paintwork is near immaculate. In addition, the underside has been treated to a full strip down of all suspension components & powder coated. At the same time, it has been fully poly bushed from front to rear. All brake lines have been replaced with stainless steel lines. The floor pan , sills, arches & filler neck etc are all original & rust free. It has only ever been driven in the summer on dry days and never been used in rain or winter..
The headlamps & fog lamps are in immaculate condition, having been protected with PPF film , to protect from stone chips.
The car has been well kept throughout its whole life by enthusiasts like myself , to ensure it’s kept in top condition.
Engine / transmission:
Original matching numbers 1H G60 engine. Runs fantastic & boosts very well. All maintenance has been carried out over the years to ensure it’s kept at full health , regardless of cost. It has the following specs:
-Stage 2 charger
-Silicone coolant & boost hoses
-Rare TEC Auto & sport full stainless steel exhaust system, the quality is unreal & the back box looks incredible. This was purchased from Germany & was a shy under €2000 quite some years!
The gearbox is in fantastic order &. shifts through the gears nicely , with the help of a short shifter.
Suspension/ Brakes:
The Rallye has KW V1 suspension alongside being fully poly bushed from front to rear. In addition, there is Weischers under bracing to the front end, adding extra rigidity to the chassis/ steering. It drives & handle’s phenomenal. It has new Porsche 996 brakes up-front, with 305mm Cupra 4x100 discs to match. Stainless steel brake lines from front to rear.
Wheels & Tyres.
OZ Ultralaggera alloys wrapped in Michelin PS4. I am potentially looking into purchasing a set of factory sebring alloys & if I do, the OZ alloys will be removed & NOT included.
Interior:
Original Digifiz dashboard in immaculate condition (VERY rare option). Factory half leather Rallye interior in excellent condition . The car is also equipped with factory fitted rear headrests, which is very rare to see on a rallye! Factory leather door cards, in immaculate condition & zero water damage (rare to find now). Factory headliner still fitted & in great shape. Dashboard is also immaculate with no cracks or damage.
History file:
The history file is incredible. A large folder is filled with invoices & paperwork going back to 1990. Every invoice for maintenance is present, alongside the original service booklet with supplying dealer stamp in Germany.
The Rallye also wears its original VIN sticker in the Service booklet & boot floor. I also have the VW birth certificate for the car, confirming its factory spec & engine number. Currently, it has a dateless private reg which states 'RALLYE', however this is NOT included. The car will come with a G60 private reg which I will be assigning to the car in the upcoming days.
Genuine reason for sale. Within my ownership, I have probably done 1000 miles at most ! This is the reason why I’m selling, as it’s parked up in my storage gathering dust & I have a few other cars which I use more regularly. No time-wasters. I’m not interested in your thoughts on the price. You are more than welcome to buy a project for less & spend way over double of the purchase price to build it to a similar standard/ condition. Those who know about these cars, will appreciate how rare they are to find in original condition.
