Description
3 owners, full service history and mot until August 2025 this car is a delight to drive. I have owned it for about 8 years.
Condition is generally good with a couple of faults and issues:
The heated seats have never worked.
The parking sensors were replaced and failed two days later. The wiring is suspected as the ecu has been swapped and is fine.
There are two small tears in the soft open roof which do not leak.
There is a crack in the plastic roof header as shown.
The vehicle had many extras and optional upgrades as follows
Larger wheels and brakes.
Two tone leather seats.
Bixenon headlights with washers.
Electric seats with computer memory.
Window feature, open when unlock button is held down and vice versa for up.
Optional auto headlights on/ off.
Auto wipers.
Other standard features include a fully working stereo with CD player, remote boot opening plus manual.
Fully automatic climate control.
Working roof with refurbished pump and new gas struts.
Spare wheel, good tyre and all original tools.
Cruise control.
Some spare parts included and an excellent but used full breathable cover.
The vehicle is original apart from a silver cover added to the start button which can easily be removed if required.
Wheels recently refurbished and in excellent condition.
Recently fitted Uniroyal Rainsport 5 tyres all round which are better than previously fitted Pirelli and Avons in the owner's opinion.
Two keys, both working.
Engine is very smooth and quiet being 5 cylinders and returns around 45 mpg. It delivers 200 bhp using a turbo. Torque is better than a V8 TVR. Limited to 140mph as are most soft tops to avoid damage to the roof. Engine uses no oil.
Surprisingly large boot with twin cubby storage behind the seats plus space above the cubby boxes.
Clutch, DMF and slave replaced. About 20k miles ago.
The original number but new plate has now been fitted. The 939 Spider followed the 916 Spider and is usefully based on the 159/ Brera platform which means most spares are readily available. Only 12, 488 Spiders were made in total, it is believed about 8, 000 are left on the road. There are only 8 other blue 2007 Spiders with this engine left in the UK. They are quite rare and hardly seen on UK roads these days.
The Pininfarina design has been described as 'achingly beautiful' and does attract compliments when out on the road.
Alfa drivers are a friendly lot, usually waving to other classic Alfas and having active and knowledgeable forums. There is an Alfa Romeo Owners Club AROC who have regular meetings and displays at car shows. Club members receive discounts at various parts suppliers.

and is highly recommended, not only for diagnosing faults but for suggestions for repair and offering testing and adjustments for many components I. e. fans, lights, sensors etc.
