Ford Cortina/ Taunus Mk4 1977 1600 GL
Up for sale is this unique survivor of a 1977 Ford Taunus/ Cortina Mk4 1600 GL. Built in France and import in Portugal in 1985 when new. Paint work is presentable but would benefit from a mop and polish. Showing just 85000km on the clock, truly a remarkable survivor. Will come with a set of refurbished cortina sport wheels.
Car is very good condition, internally and externally. Only one patch of welding has been done by the previous owner localised to the spare wheel well. Due to the climate of Portugal there is no bubbling or swelling on any of the panels and all the spot welds are crisp and defined. However there is corrosion to the top of both front wings, back or both sills will need a repair and there is a small amount of swelling on the bottom of both rear lower quarters. All repairable and nothing too serious.
Mechanically is perfect, doesn’t tap like most pintos and the VV Carb works well.
As well as a refresh on the braking system and suspension. Interior wise is very good, door cards are crisp with no damage and the carpet is near perfect. Brown GL cloth is good with some minor wear on the top of the back seats but it is repairable.
The car is located in Central Portugal, however for the right price it’ll be shipped back to the UK with Nova paid and I can guide the new owner on registration of the vehicle so you would be the first UK owner.
Once back in the UK, it’ll be located in Clevedon, North Somerset.
