*** PRICE REDUCED ***
Stunning example of a VW Bay Window Twin Cab Pickup. Manufactured in 1986 and originally restored in Brazil, now registered in the UK with an MOT until May 2025, V5 present and correct. This “Kombi,” as it’s known in Brazil, is outstanding and a real head-turner.
The pickup has done less than 300 km since being restored.
The original 1. 6-litre VW engine now runs electronic ignition and fuel injection (with lambda feedback). It always starts on the button, is economical, and performs well in modern traffic. The ECU is a standard Bosch MP9, found on later Brazilian Kombis (up to 2012) and many other VW models. The tubular stainless-steel manifold and exhaust is a work of art and sounds terrific (sorry about the photos of the exhaust; the reflection of the stones on the driveway didn’t do it justice).
The front brakes have been converted to discs, with servo assistance.
The gear linkage and "hockey stick” bushes have been recently replaced, making gear changes crisp and concise with the short shifter - no more wondering what gear you’re going to end up in.
The dampers have just been replaced with brand new Bilsteins all around. A bump-steer kit has also been fitted, both of which have transformed the ride and handling.
Inside, we have a brand-new interior with matching front and rear bench seats, door cards, and dashboard. The pick-up also benefits from electric windows, a Bluetooth-capable head unit, an alarm, and central locking.
If you’re looking for something unusual with a retro vibe that you can still drive reliably, this might just be for you. The pick-up really stands out; park it next to a nice Porsche, and I can tell you, you’ll get just as much attention!Manufactured in 1986 and originally restored in Brazil, now registered in the UK with an MOT until May 2025, V5 present and correct.
