Description

The Alfa Romeo Gran Turismo Veloce (GTV) was designed by Enrico Fumia at Pininfaria in the 1990’s. A typical Italian design, low-slung, wedge-shaped with a low nose and high kicked up tail or “Kamm tail”. The GTV was very favourably received by the press, winning awards such as Autocar Magazine “1995 Car of the Year” and Car Magazines “Best designed car”.
This is a very special low mileage two owner car with a full-service history. Pre-registered by Alfa Romeo main dealer Mangoletsi, on the 2nd of March 1999 and transferred to its first owner 8 days later on the 10th of March 1999. John Marshall Fairhurst (hence the private plate) owned the car until 5th March 2018 and maintained the car to the letter and this car is offered with every single invoice to support its history.
An Alfa enthusiast bought the car with just 35, 973 miles on the clock and has had the car maintained by Alfa Specialist Alfa Aid, in the last six years she has covered just 499 miles and the GTV has had her brakes overhauled, alternator replaced along with a new N/ S/ R Anti-Roll Drop link, oil pack, battery isolator, new clutch slave cylinder with the underside cleaned and wasoyl'd along with regular low mileage services and oil changes. A new timing belt was fitted at 35, 955 miles. The car was bought new for £21, 000 and in its life has had £14, 812 spent on regular maintenance. The car has been dry stored throughout and will be offered with a new MOT and service. Extra's include Alfa Cup alloy wheels, Electric Sun roof, Highline Alfa ICE and Supagard from new. The 2. 0 Litre Twin Spark engine produced around 150 bhp and the car is fast and very nimble, the engine has 4 valves per cylinder, variable inlet camshaft timing and twin balancer shafts. This engine loves to be revved and is happiest as it approaches the red line, each gear ratio is then perfectly placed to take you to the car's maximum speed of 134 mph.
