Description
1968 Porsche 912 for sale.
1968 model year Porsche 912 sold by Delta Imports Motors Inc. Pettibone Island, La Crosse, Wisconsin US to a Mr Ronald R Neumann.
1960’s Porsche’s are legendary cars and will only become more iconic and valuable as time goes on. This stunning 912 has lived in the east coast of USA most of its life and has been looked after extremely well.
Imported and registered in the UK in 2014 by a previous owner, who searched high and low for the most solid, rust-free original car he could find, with all matching numbers and low milage.
This Porsche 912 finished in the iconic colour of Irish Green has never been restored or stripped down, this car has only received mild and sympathetic improvements wear needed. This means that the body panels are fitting as Stuttgart intended.
When arrived in the UK it was gone through mechanically and fully serviced, inspecting all bushes, brakes, shocks etc, which with the low mileage were all in great shape.
The worn Solex carbs were changed in the US with a set of Weber 40's, which have since been replaced with a set of 40 Dellorto’s.
I have fitted a programmable bluetooth 123 distributor which works extremely well and with the app on your smart phone gives you a GPS speedo, rev counter oil temp gauge as well as showing the real time timing advance.
The car has been lowered slightly to bring it down from US to European spec and then 4 wheel aligned the car, so it handles great.
Currently the car is on a set of original Fuchs, I also have the original 4. 5 x 15 steel wheel with Porsche emblem hub caps.
All rubber seals and gaskets are original and in great condition. The chrome exterior trim is also in great condition. Inside benefits from all original seat covers, carpets, and original headlining which is great condition.
Another nice touch is that the original Blaupunkt radio which is in full working order.
On the road you cannot help but enjoy the lively nature of the early Porsches, this 912 is so well balanced and also has the advantage of a 5-speed gearbox.
Priced at £70k but will consider serious offers. If you are a serious buyer, then please feel free to email me at using the button below and I’ll gladly answer any questions. Since arriving in the UK the car has been regularly serviced and maintain by Martin Nichols, Prill Porsche Classics and more recently Fox Classics Ltd. Prior to the cars arrival in the UK it was regularly serviced at European Performance Inc. in the USA.
